Maybe next time the Pirates are struggling they can put the newest issue of Baseball America on the mound and it’s prospect ranking will awe their opponent to submission.
Edinson Volquez time! Is it safe to say Volquez is the best pitcher the Pirates have?
The weirdest part is that he has a career low in strikeouts.
Last time we saw Volquez he was getting fucked out of a win he earned by pitching great. Tony Watson stole it. Somehow Watson has one freaking win less than Volquez. Thief.
I’ll never understand how a guy can blow the lead and get the win. What a stupid statistic if that’s the case. “Oh look at me, I’m going to fail miserably and get rewarded for it!”. Relief pitchers should be freaking politicians, constantly getting rewarded for failing.
Not that Watson constantly fails. I’m just bitter.
So. The Pirates are 3-0 when Volquez starts against the Cardinals. That’s cool, eh? Oddly two of those starts were turds. One was the opposite of a turd, whatever that is. I guess it would just be undigested food. Like a really solid burger. Not a bacon they threw a bunch of shit inside of either. I’m talking like a good, rareish burger. Some salt, some pepper, lettuce, tomato, maybe some mayo but that’s up to you. Juicy, decent, American burger. Volquez’s last start against the Cardinals was an amazing burger.
His career numbers get thrown out at the end of the night at your friendly neighborhood poisoning station known as Mcdonald’s.
At least they’re facing Shelby Miller right?
Every time the Pirates face off against Miller I always make a Shelby Ford reference. It seems to work out pretty good too.
See, the Cards are only 2-2 against the Bucs when he starts. The power of former “prospect” Shelby Miller paying dividends.
Look at dem numbers. They suck. The only explanation? Shelby Miller.
Well, and the fact that Pedro Alvarez, Andrew McCutchen, Neil Walker, Russell Martin, Starling Marte, and Jose Tabata all seems to kick varying degrees of ass against him.
